OVERVIEW

General Data

Introducing the pico Talon: compact 900mm wingspan 3D printed FPV plane in the popular push-propeller configuration. Plane is suitable for long distance flights, smooth cruising, and also for flying in small spaces even without use of FPV equipment. Aircraft can be successfully carried fully assembled, but you can also detach the wings. Wings mount is simple and solid. Nose of the aircraft is modular and completely removable. It has been fully adapted for the Walksnail system, but version for standard FPV cameras is also available. Nose file as well as several other parts is available in STEP format to facilitate possible editing and customization. Despite its small size, the fuselage is spacious and will even fit a Li-on 4S2P battery which will allow up to 2 hours of flight with recommended equipment. If you prefer less wing loading then you can use smaller battery and still enjoy a long flight time. Recommended motor is a T-Motor F90 1300KV and 7 inch propeller. However, 3 types of motor mounting have been prepared, so you will be able to mount most motors of similar size or even larger.

CFD RESULTS

Geometry is designed to provide the best possible characteristics. During preliminary testing, a number of airfoils were checked and Eppler E205 was finally selected. The aircraft's longitudinal stability is ensured by a fair margin. With the center of gravity properly adjusted, for horizontal flight at zero angle of attack, there is no pitch moment, which was also confirmed in test flights. Optimal angles of attack are in the range of 0 to 2 degrees, the cruising speeds providing the greatest flight time are in the range of 55 to 75 km/h.
